The very name ‘Copenhagen’ means ‘merchants’ harbor’. From the city’s earliest days the sea has played a huge role in its life and development. We will visit the harbor gateway and the Nyhavn – ‘new harbor’ – district where the rows of old houses and the sailing boats moored in front of them have become a trademark of the Danish capital. And, of course, no trip around Copenhagen’s water front would be complete without meeting the Little Mermaid, one of the world’s most famous maritime monuments.
