In the Middle Ages, the district was known as Ribera. Today we know it as the Born district – and it's still noisy and busy! But the sailors and fisherman of old have given way to tourists, and fans of the bohemian lifestyle. This district of Ribera and Born hasn't always had an easy time of it. The district was almost entirely torn down, and a grim fortress stood on it – the Citadel. All of these events have left their mark on these ancient walls.
