Over the course of this excursion we will see the Piazza della Signoria, the Florentine city square where Michelangelo’s celebrated David was first installed, and where the radical preacher and burner of books and art Savonarola was publically executed. Further we will see the historical residences of Dante and Michelangelo, the Duomo di Firenze and Giotto’s bell tower, as well as a multitude of palaces, such as the family residence of one of Florence’s oldest and most powerful family lines, the Pucci, whose 20th-century scion Emilio rose to the commanding heights of the Italian fashion industry.
