Zone: The Old town

Two thousand years of history are connected with the place where Barcelona Cathedral stands today. It was here that the Romans who founded the city built their temple, and even before then the location was used for shamanic ritual by Ibero-Celtic tribes. It's a place known as Mont Taber. It's the highest point in the Old Town of Barcelona. Barcelona is the only city in the world to have such a historic centre. It's unique in that the majority of the old town remains unaltered, and has come down to us directly in all its Medieval glory. We can see all this for ourselves, when we take a walk through the historic streets of Barcelona.
